Is Hollywood dying?

Is it just me, or does it seem like every year for the past few years has been an awful year for movies?  Let's take a look at 2008.  Roger Ebert reported his best 20 films of 2008.....most of which I have never seen or even heard anyone talk about, but the ones I can agree with him on are:

  • "The Dark Knight
  • "Iron Man"
  • "Milk"
  • "Wall-E"
4 movies in a year time period????  Kind of sad really, if you ask me.  Although, I would have thrown "Saw V" in there, but I am a horror fanatic myself

Now, let's move onto the top movies of 2009.  It seemed to be a bit better though:

  • "Inglourious Basterds"
  • "District 9"
  • "Up"
  • "Where the Wild Things Are"
  • "Caroline"
  • "Avatar"
  • "Star Trek"
  • "The Collector"
  • "Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince"
  • "Saw VI"
So yea, 2009 was ALOT better than 2008, which is a good thing because like I said, 2008 was pretty bad

Let's move on to 2010, see what movies were good in 2010....and from what I can see from the lists of 2010 movies, there weren't really THAT many good ones at all!!

  • "Black Swan"
  • "Inception"
  • "Harry Potter Deathly Hollows Part 1"
  • "Saw VII"

And there we have it....the best movies of the past few years in my opinion......
